Walnut Hall - More Than a Century in the Making The property on which Walnut Hall Residences is located was originally Crown Land granted to William Jarvis. The land was eventually subdivided into development lots in 1853, one of which was acquired by John O'Donohoe, a city alderman at the time. Today, the Residences of Walnut Hall include ten spectacular new Georgian styled homes on George Street, next to the historic 140 year old Walnut Hall, Toronto's first apartment building at 102-108 Shuter Street. The building is one of very few pre-confederation buildings remaining in the city and is included in the City of Toronto's inventory of heritage properties. Namara’s first private development project received full support from City staff and City Councillor when it was proposed and, since being built in 1998, has helped increase the resale value of neighbouring homes. This was the first project on which Namara acted as both developer and builder. |
